Alex Martinez is the founder of Real Estate Skills, along with Ryan Zomorodi. Their goal for this program is to teach people how they can earn tens of thousands of dollars, perhaps much more, per month by wholesaling or flipping houses. And they say that you can achieve it, even when you have zero real estate experience, and best of all, you don’t even need to spend any money on marketing. It may sound too good to be true for some people, and I agree. But let’s take a look first at this program to see if they can back up their claims.
Alex has stated that the early instructions of some real estate gurus are outdated now. You have to make hundreds of cold calls to almost anyone, and not one of them will answer, or give a favorable response. That all changed when he joined a Multiple List Exchange (MLS). A multiple listing service (MLS) is a database established by cooperating real estate brokers to provide data about properties for sale. This system allows brokers to see one another’s listings of properties for sale with the goal of connecting homebuyers to sellers. With this service, plus their own system that the founders developed, they were able to generate twenty-two Gs in profit wholesaling houses.
“In this training, no stone is left unturned. It’s everything that you need, A to Z.”, Alex says as he explains the gist behind his Real Estate Skills course, and his premium training program, the Pro Wholesaler VIP Program. “We also help our students by providing world-class scripts, tools, cheatsheets, contracts, a deal analyzer software, and more. In the program, everyone gets our battle-tested and proven resources.” Aside from the usual inclusion of video courses, there’s also live coaching from Alex himself, basically two Q&A calls per week. They’ll discuss everything that isn’t covered in the video courses, which usually include how to find good deals, locating cash buyers (instead of credit or something else), how to negotiate with those dealers properly, scaling your wholesale or flipping business, building your team, and many others. If you miss the event, or even if you just wanted to backtrack any of the sessions so you won’t miss any of the details, do not worry. Recordings of the sessions are also available for you to replay. Finally, you’ll also be given access to a private Facebook group that consists of your fellow real estate investors. A great addition if you’re looking to build your real estate network, or you want to learn from other investors who are more experienced than you are.
All of this comes with a rather steep price, however. Real Estate Skills do offer free “training” to anyone who wishes to learn Alex’s system using MLS. But it’s just pre-recorded webinar that only serves to introduce you to the actual program, the Pro Wholesaler VIP. As for the cost, it’s a $4,800 one-time payment, which covers everything already. Again, Alex claims that he’s been able to make hundreds of thousands of dollars per year using the proven real estate method. But I can’t really recommend it right now because real estate wholesaling and flipping isn’t really a good business to do right now, due to the pandemic season. While a lot of people may be forced to sell their property right now due to various reasons (business owners are usually the victims of this, as most of them are forced to close down), not many people are also willing to invest in real estate right because of the situation. Also, don’t even think for a second that your success is guaranteed the moment you join this online course. The process of buying and selling real estate properties is romanticized in many reality television shows as if it were simple. This business is not as straightforward as the media portrays it. It involves a lot of complex processes, and you are required to understand them all. Let’s be real here: Flipping houses is a risky business that isn’t worth it in some regions. In fact, there is a significant portion of flipped houses sold with no profit margins or at a loss before costs. And this may even get worse.
It doesn’t mean that Real Estate Skills and Alex Martinez is a scammer, however. It’s far from it, actually. As a real estate investor, Alex could be considered one of those people who have achieved great success in the industry. Can anyone also duplicate it? Of course. But only if you’re willing to put up with all the hard work and the potential risks associated with the industry. If you want something that’s more profitable, try to make it digital. In other words, building yourself up a digital real estate can allow you to earn money that’s equivalent to real estate investing, but with potentially lower risks, and even cost.
